Tencel® Lyocell is the most environmentally friendly man-made material available today. Tencel® is fashionable, stylish and well-known for its outstanding character. It is silky soft with a luxurious drape. Textiles of TENCEL® are more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen. It is naturally hygienic as it inhibits the growth of bacteria. It is produced exclusively from Eucalyptus trees, which are grown sustainably on special farms. Tencel®, the eco-fibre, makes it possible to create truly environmentally-friendly luxury garments.

Bamboo and organic cotton blends

Bamboo materials are becoming more and more popular as our world becomes more conscious of ecology. But not only “greenies” can enjoy this luxurious textile – often compared with cashmare, the bamboo fabric is incredibly soft, due to the naturally smooth round fibres, that require very little chemical treatment. Bamboo fibres are quite long, meaning they also pill less than the cheaper varieties of cotton, meaning your T-shirt maintains its silky, shiny appearance. The toughness of the fabric itself stands up to multiple washings and wears

Because it grows so quickly, bamboo is an easily renewable resource. It requires 1/3 the amount of water to grow than cotton and has no natural pests – therefore bamboo is be grown with little to no use of pesticides or herbicides. Bamboo plantations can quite easily be kept organic and replanted every year. T-shirt made from Bamboo are 100% biodegradable.

Stanley & Stella recognises that garment manufacturing is one of the most damaging industrial sectors on the planet. This means it needs pioneering steps to address the many negative impacts. The companies we work with source low impact, sustainable materials to make their collections. From fibre sourcing to distribution of the finished product, they scrutinise every process and every supplier for sustainability.

Fabrics are constructed from fibres which are either organically grown or derived from sustainable sources. All of which are produced using less water and without harmful chemicals, and dye processing confirms to GOTS, OEKO-TEX® and REACH standards. In most situations, an alternative use is found for the waste products from the manufacturing process.
